Course Description

This course introduces a cognitive-behavioral framework for addressing postpartum depression (PPD). The course integrates clinical expertise in maternal mental health with practical CBT tools. Through case studies, interactive exercises, and take-home worksheets, participants will gain foundational skills to identify PPD, understand contributing cognitive patterns, and identify supportive strategies across diverse care settings.

Tahara DeBarrows

LMFT
Tahara DeBarrows, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Connecticut and Florida with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. She is the owner of A Journey to Healing Counseling, PLLC, a virtual private group practice focused on attachment-informed care, maternal mental health, and trauma recovery. Tahara specializes in working with women navigating postpartum transitions, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues using a culturally responsive, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach.
In addition to her clinical work, Tahara serves as a clinical supervisor, continuing education presenter, medical consultant for the Department of Public Health in Connecticut, as well as a tutor and preceptor supporting emerging mental health professionals. Her passion lies in empowering both mothers and mental health practitioners through interactive training, evidence-based tools, and a warm, engaging style. Tahara is also a contributing writer, having published numerous blogs and wellness resources aimed at promoting healing and resilience.
